Barrier Island ECOthon
The Barrier Island ECOthon is just two weeks out, October 25th. This will be my first adventure race, rather short at 34 miles, but a great starting place.
I’ve never been a runner or cyclist . . . or kayaker . . . and only just began exercising again after a several years of sitting around. At the end of an enjoyable 10 mile run the other day, I was shocked at where I suddenly found myself—feeling great after fairly substantial feat. Granted, I’ve been slowly and steadily pushing myself for a couple months now, but what a dramatically different place than I was just 150 days ago.
I’ve recently started logging my training workouts on Garmin Connect to help track mileage and progress. If I end up getting the waterproof gps unit (Forerunner 301xt) before the race, I’ll log it as well.
