12 Mile Folly Island Run

This evening I ran the length of Folly Island and back – about a 12 miles round trip on the beach.

I’m still pushing my training forward. The Barrier Island ECOthon is less than a month a way now. It’s a 35 mile race along the barrier islands, mixing in kayaking, running, swimming and biking. At the moment, I’m most focused on improving my running since the cumulative running distance in the race will be 10 miles on the beach.

However, immediately after the run/swim leg of the race, I’ll get back into a kayak for about 3 miles before getting on the bike. I expect that it will be a challenge to get the legs moving again after squeezing them into a boat for about 45 minutes.
