Inov-8 RocLite 295 Trail Running Shoe
There are plenty of product reviews out there. This is just my response to putting on my first pair of Inov-8 shoes.
My new Inov-8 RocLite 295 Trail Running Shoes came in the mail from Mountains Plus on Friday afternoon.
Saturday morning they joined me for some adventure race training . . . on the trail, in the mud, over the sand and through the water.
I didn’t purchase Inov-8′s lightest race model. My thought process there was that a non-race shoe would be more durable and I would get more mileage out of them. Consequently, I was anticipating the RocLite 295 to be heavier. Heavier than what – I’m not sure, since I’ve never worn a race or any other model.
To my shock (!!!), the RockLite 295 is feather light. My first impression was that a shoe this light couldn’t possibly be sturdy enough to last. A close look at the Inov-8 RocLite 295 shows a fairly complex construction, with multiple layer tightly stitched and glued. The light weight of the shoe just doesn’t seem to match up with the construction of the shoe.
After 15 miles of punishment, I couldn’t be any happier with my decision to buy a pair of Inov-8 trail running shoes sight unseen.
